HOME WORK

Design a power supply unit. Your instructor will assign you one of the assignments listed below. You are to submit a schematic and detail BOM list for your design.

Your submission should be in one file (either PDF or WORD file). Click here to see sample. For soft copy submission, please save your file as psu_xxxxxxx.pdf (or .doc where xxxxxxx is your admission number).

Marks will be given for properly drawn schematic (by using a schematic capture software such as TinyCad or ExpressSCH, or other computer drawing software). All parts should be created as a part of the part library.

Failure to follow instruction will results in mark deduction or rejection of submission.

List of Power Supply Design Assignments:

1. Input: 230Vac
Output: 3.3Vdc, 500mA
Use Linear Regulator for your design.
8. Input: 1.5V Battery Input
Output: 3.3V, 500mA
2. Input: 230Vac
Output: 12Vdc, 500mA
Use Linear Regulator for your design.
9. Input: Solar Powered
Output: 3.3Vdc, 10mA
Include solar panel in your design.
3. Input: 230Vac
Output: 3.3Vdc, 500mA
Use Switching Regulator for your design.
10. Input: 12V Lead Acid Battery
Output: 5Vdc, 10mA
Include the battery in your BOM.
4. Input: 230Vac
Output: 5Vdc, 500mA
Use Switching Regulator for your design.
11. Input: 12V Lead Acid Battery
Output: 3Vdc, 500mA
Include the battery in your BOM.
5. Input: 230Vac
Ouput 1: 24Vdc unregulated, 2A
Output 2: 9Vdc regulated, 500mA
12. Input: AA-size Batteries
Ouput: 1.8Vdc, 60mA
Use LP2951 Regulator. Please indicate the minimum number of batteries required.

Output: 5V, 500mA
13. Input: 230Vac
Output: 5Vdc, 1A, regulated output
Use a bridge rectifier module in your design.
7. Input: AA-size Batteries
Ouput: 3.3Vdc, 60mA
Use LP2951 Regulator. Please indicate the minimum number of batteries required.
14. Input: 3.7V Lithium Battery
Output: 3.3Vdc, 100mA
Inlcude battery in your BOM.
